Chances are if you live in a big city, you don’t have to leave your borders to experience cuisine from a particular region of the world. Globalization has facilitated the migration of people, cultures, goods, ideas and for our context food thereby granting unparalleled access to seemingly exotic restaurants and niched grocery stores.

Our YouTube series aims to go deep into the recesses of immigrant chefs minds to uncover the soul of their particular cuisine and culture. Peering through this lens should simultaneously dispel stereotypes and by it’s very nature destroy the demand for culturally appropriated, bastardized foods which are shallow representations of the real thing….At least that’s our theory.  

The depth of learnings will help discerning food lovers among other things understand dishes and demystify ingredients whether they want to purchase at a restaurant or recreate at home. We also go into historical and contemporary issues affecting each community.
